Arteta insists Arsenal stars are hungry for more ahead of the Ipswich game
Arsenal will be playing in their fourth different competition of the season when they take on Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup, and Mikel Arteta insists his players are ready for the challenge and hungry enough to keep going.
It is still early in the season, but Arsenal want to win every competition, meaning their sights are set on a quadruple. They came close to achieving that last term, remaining in contention for much of the campaign before their hopes faded.
For much of last season, Arsenal were favourites to win all four trophies before crashing out of the FA Cup and losing the League Cup final. However, the Gunners will have learnt valuable lessons from that campaign and will hope to use those experiences to improve.
Arsenal determined to compete
This Arsenal team is constantly improving, and they have signed several top players to strengthen the squad. As a result, there is optimism that the Gunners can produce an even better performance by the end of this season.
For now, Arsenal will take their season one game at a time. The Gunners know they must continue winning matches if they are to keep their ambitions of competing for every available trophy alive.
Arteta believes his players remain eager to take part and improve, even with a busy schedule ahead. Speaking before the Ipswich game, he highlighted the desire he sees within the squad and explained why he trusts his players to keep pushing.
Arteta confident in his players
Arteta also believes the players will respond positively after reviewing their previous performance. As quoted by Arsenal Media, the Arsenal boss said:
“We’ll look at the players’ eyes and they will say they want to play, and ‘I want to win a game, and I want to improve.’
“They will review the [Sunderland] game, and they will be willing for more because I know the boys.”
This shows Arteta’s confidence in his squad and their motivation to keep improving. Arsenal have another opportunity to demonstrate that hunger against Ipswich, as they begin their Carabao Cup campaign with ambitions of going all the way.
