Arsenal’s Squad Is Magnificent.

Good morning all.

This is going to be a difficult write for me, because it could become a simple rolling out of cliches, and we don’t want that on here, do we now?

It wasn’t the most free flowing football we have seen, in fact we were forced to watch the type of football that some of us Wengerites detest. It was physicality over skill , hard graft over creativity and basically blood and thunder football. However, lets be clear, it was all of those things because that’s exactly what Sunderland made it and we had to respond in kind. Well we did just that, we matched them at that malarkey and won the game trough two or three moments of individual brilliance, bought and paid for with north of £billion.

There was a penalty save from a goalkeeper that we bough to replace two previously bought big money signings. And that save, together with a later double save, justified that purchase. David Raya might just be the best keeper this club has had, he is certainly the finest distributor of the ball in our history.

Then about two minutes later , our new £80m theft of the Newcastle captain, paid an almost immediate dividend. It was a world class finish by any standard, in direct contrast to what had gone before.

There isn’t a team that can physically intimidate us, in any ground, in any country in the world. Maybe a couple of teams can still out football us on a given day, but even that is becoming debatable.

We have now won nine PL games in a row, for the first time in 22 years and still going.

I believe City are our only domestic challengers, and the way we dismissed them last month, and watching them so far, leads me to think they too will be left in our wake as the season progresses.

Like our style of football or not, this team/squad is magnificent.

Most encouraging of all to me is that when we have the inevitable losses and draws, there is a character about this squad, and our manager, that will bounce back.

I’m convinced that we will win the title this season, and the next one as well. I feel the twilight of my football watching life is in good hands.

Enjoy it people, I would say “while it lasts” but that could easily be for quite some time.
