Arsenal Women confirm Champions League squad

Arsenal Women have confirmed their 25 strong squad for the Champions League group phase, with the Gunners kicking off their campaign at home to HB Koge on Tuesday night. Clubs have to have a minimum of eight ‘homegrown’ players in their 25 allocation and can then add more academy players to their ‘B’ list.

There is no place for Daphne van Domselaar in the squad and this is because Arsenal effectively have 18 senior overseas players and had to drop one from the squad. van Domselaar is still recovering from knee surgery she underwent in May. Renee Slegers said on Thursday that she was hopeful of a return some time in October but wouldn’t be firm on that. Matchday five takes place on 11 November and Arsenal have good cover at goalkeeper.
