Arsenal star Kai Havertz may have just aimed a brutal dig at Chelsea
Kai Havertz left Chelsea to join Arsenal in the summer of 2023.
The Germany international was viewed as a potential superstar when the Blues signed him from Bayer Leverkusen, but it just didn’t work out as well as they hoped. Many Chelsea fans were happy when he left.
That is despite the fact that Havertz scored one of the most important goals in the club’s history – the winner in the Champions League final against Manchester City in 2021.
Perhaps that is why he doesn’t remember that goal too fondly.

Chelsea fans should be eternally grateful to Kai Havertz for his Champions League-winning goal against Manchester City in Porto.
Yes, the former Bayer Leverkusen man didn’t set the stage on fire throughout his Blues career, but he is still responsible for providing one of the biggest moments in their entire history.
We’re sure Havertz felt great when he scored that goal five years ago, but that feeling seems to be incomparable to his Champions League final strike for Arsenal.
In the final game of last season in Budapest, Havertz scored against Paris Saint-Germain to give the Gunners the lead in the final.
Arsenal ended up losing that game in a penalty shootout, which stings, but the German has claimed that the goal gave him a feeling that he has never had before.
He said in a Reddit AMA: “I think there are two. The more negative one, let’s say, was in the Champions League final, even though we lost the game.
“I feel like I never had a feeling like this before in my life, the emotional feeling after I scored the goal, after the celebration, the goosebumps. It was just incredible, and in that minute, I think that was the best I’ve ever felt in my life on a football pitch. So I think that was my favourite one.”
That answer is really interesting, as many would think that his winning goal for Chelsea in the Champions League final would be far more memorable because of the end result.
However, the fact that the Arsenal goal, despite the defeat, gave him the best feeling of his career shows he has well and truly moved on from Chelsea. That feels like a brutal dig at the Blues.
