Arsenal midfielder nominated for Premier League award
Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi has been nominated for the Premier League’s Adobe Express Creative Moment of the Month award for September.
The Spaniard is one of five players shortlisted for the prize, which recognises outstanding pieces of creativity during Premier League matches.
Zubimendi’s nomination comes for his contribution during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on September 6.
Arsenal fell behind in the London derby but recovered to secure all three points and maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.
Zubimendi produced one of the standout moments of the contest as Arsenal found a way through Chelsea’s midfield during their comeback.
The 27-year-old is competing against Aston Villa midfielder Emiliano Buendia, Chelsea forward Joao Pedro, Ipswich Town winger Abdul Fatawu and Nottingham Forest striker Liam Delap for the award.
Supporters can vote for their preferred moment on the Premier League’s official website until 12pm BST on Monday, September 28, with the winner due to be announced next week.
The nomination provides further recognition for Zubimendi, who has established himself as an important part of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
His ability to control possession and progress the ball has remained central to Arsenal’s approach after his impressive debut campaign in English football.
Zubimendi joined Arsenal from Real Sociedad in 2025 and quickly adapted to the demands of the Premier League.
He made 34 league appearances during his first season as Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title.
The Spain international also produced several memorable goals, including his spectacular volley against Nottingham Forest in September 2025.
That strike earned Zubimendi the Premier League Goal of the Month award, making September a particularly productive month for individual recognition during his time in England.
His latest nomination comes after Arsenal made another strong start to the new campaign.
The Gunners won their opening three Premier League fixtures for the first time since the 2003-04 Invincibles season while conceding fewer than two goals across those matches.
Zubimendi has continued to play a prominent role in Arteta’s midfield as Arsenal attempt to defend their league crown.
The midfielder is currently away with Spain during the international break before Arsenal resume their domestic campaign against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on October 10.
Victory in the public vote would give Zubimendi another Premier League individual honour after his Goal of the Month success last season.
