Arsenal make move for 21yo Como star, Gunners want him under Arteta
Arsenal have made a move for Como defender Jacobo Ramon, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The 21-year-old joined the Serie A outfit from Real Madrid in the summer of 2025 and has since developed into one of the best central defenders in the division.
This has caught the eye of several top European clubs, and Tuttomercatoweb claim that the Gunners are firm admirers and have already made a move for the Spanish ace.
The young defender is already at the top of the Gunners’ shortlist, and attempts are already underway to bring him to London to work under manager Mikel Arteta soon.
Madrid currently have a buy-back clause and a 50 percent sell-on clause for Ramon, but the defender has no desire to return to Los Blancos unless he has an important role.
Arsenal may struggle to persuade Ramon
The Spaniard had a superb debut season for Como last term. He had a passing accuracy of 91 percent in Serie A, while winning almost six duels on average.
Ramon also registered four recoveries, four clearances and almost two tackles per game. He was quite brilliant from the right central defensive position.
Madrid have the option to buy him back for just £7.7 million next summer, but the player appears reluctant to rejoin the club in a future back-up role.
In that case, Madrid could be tempted to sell him for a huge profit on his return, but we doubt whether Arsenal will succeed in bringing Ramon to the club.
The Gunners are well covered in the right centre-back slot. William Saliba is currently injured, but he is an undisputed starter in the league and Europe when fit.
On top of this, the club have just signed Ezri Konsa for the position and also have another brilliant prospect in Cristhian Mosquera for the defensive role.
Hence, Ramon is likely to make the switch to Arsenal. We won’t be surprised if Como pay a hefty fee to Madrid to cancel out the buy-back and sell-on clauses.
They did so with Nico Paz over the summer and could repeat it with Ramon.
