Arsenal get Christos Tzolis injury timeframe update after Greece medical tests

Christos Tzolis has withdrawn from Greece's squad and will now return to Arsenal
Initial tests conducted by Greece national team's medical staff indicate Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis faces 15 to 20 days on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The 24-year-old winger was forced off on Thursday evening just minutes after his opening goal was disallowed for offside after feeling tightness in the back of his right thigh.
Tzolis initially wanted to continue but head coach Ivan Jovanovic took the decision out of his hands and substituted him to protect his condition.
He was due for assessment this morning and sources close to the Greece national team have briefed that he is expected to miss between two to three weeks of action.

However, sources close to Tzolis have indicated Arsenal are currently reluctant to put a timeframe on the attacker's fitness and they will instead assess his condition thoroughly once he arrives back in London.
Aside from the injury, it had actually been a rather productive international break for the former Club Brugge forward as he netted in the win over Serbia in Belgrade before later assisting the winner against Germany.
Now he's due to travel back to England to begin his recovery in cooperation with Arsenal's medical staff. Similarly to Kai Havertz, the Gunners want to carry out their own tests on Tzolis despite dialogue with Greece, who are understood to have shared all relevant information.

Should Tzolis miss three weeks of action, he would miss a total of four matches against Leeds United (H), Lille (H), Nottingham Forest (A) and Bayern Munich (A).
Should he miss just two weeks, he might have an outside chance of being fit for Mikel Arteta's side's trip to the City Ground to face Forest on October 18.
Either way, it's now shaping up to be a big month for Eberechi Eze, who has endured a slow start to the campaign. He is currently away on England duty and was a second-half substitute on Tuesday as the Three Lions ran out 2-0 winners over Czechia in Prague.
Having sold both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli to Besiktas and Al-Hilal respectively, the Premier League champions are already short at left-wing having failed to sign Morgan Rogers or Vinicius Junior.
Arsenal were understood to be relaxed and satisfied with their summer transfer business but their strategy and approach is now facing a major test as Eze is currently their only fit left-winger and naturally, he's more of an attacking midfielder, anyway. Noni Madueke can also operate from the left flank if required.
