Arsenal could suddenly get the chance to sign £65m player they missed out on this summer

The Premier League landscape has shifted almost overnight after Manchester City were found guilty of 114 of their 115 financial charges.

At the moment, it’s unclear what these charges will mean for City, and what punishment they will face, but there are suggestions that the sanctions placed on City will be hefty.

There’s been talk of huge fines, stripped titles and even relegation.

Of course, if City are relegated, one has to imagine that their squad will quickly disperse and head away from the Etihad.

The vultures will soon be circling around Enzo Maresca’s side, and there’s a market opportunity that could crop up for Arsenal.

Arsenal could get second chance at signing Iliman Ndiaye

Arsenal had a strong interest in Iliman Ndiaye over the summer as they looked to bolster the left wing position.

However, Ndiaye ultimately ended up joining Man City for £65m.

Now though, amid all sorts of uncertainty around City’s financial charges, Arsenal may get another bite at the cherry when it comes to signing Ndiaye, and he’s an even more appealing prospect at this point.

It may have only been a few weeks, but Ndiaye has taken to life at City like a duck to water, and the fact he’s shown he won’t be overawed by playing for a top club may well make him more appealing to Arsenal.

Of course, there’s a long way to run in this situation with City and their appeal against these charges, but if there is a resolution found and City are punished in the way many are expecting, maybe Arsenal could have a look, once again, at signing Ndiaye.

City’s situation is going to send shockwaves across world football, that’s for sure.
