Argentine media are now saying something interesting about Julian Alvarez after failed Arsenal transfer

Arsenal were involved in one of the transfer sagas of the summer as they chased Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal were very keen on signing Alvarez this summer, but, sadly a deal couldn’t be done.
Alvarez had his heart set on Barcelona, and he’s burned a lot of bridges at Atletico Madrid in trying to force a move this summer.
In turn, Alvarez hasn’t been playing much this season, but he has been back in action on international duty.
Interestingly though, it appears that the drama over the summer is still hanging over Alvarez as his recent performance for Argentina was criticised rather heavily in the national press.
Argentine media react to Julian Alvarez’s performance vs Bolivia
Argentina won 4-0 against Bolivia in the early hours of Thursday morning, but despite a strong win, Alvarez wasn’t at the races it seems.
TyC Sports gave Julián Alvarez a 5/10 rating, saying his current difficulties at club level are clearly affecting his performances. The assessment noted that chances which previously would have ended in goals weren’t converted in the way you would expect. In summary, it appears his transfer saga is having an impact still.
Bolavip Argentina was considerably more critical, giving Alvarez a 4/10. It said he looked uncomfortable throughout the match and had to move away from the penalty area to get involved in the game. He failed to convert a clear first-half chance and was unable to make the most of other attacking opportunities after the break.
Clarin also awarded Alvarez 5/10, making him one of Argentina’s lowest-rated players alongside Gianluca Prestianni. The newspaper said he played the full 90 minutes and moved both inside and outside in an attempt to influence the game, but ultimately lacked the goal that would have completed his performance.
La Pagina Millonaria gave Alvarez 5/10, noting that he struggled to get into the game during the opening stages and subsequently moved further away from the penalty area in search of the ball. The outlet highlighted his willingness to sacrifice himself by creating space for Lautaro Martínez, but also pointed out that he missed a clear one-on-one opportunity late in the first half.
El Destape were even more damning, handing Alvarez a 4/10 and describing him as “lento, impreciso y desconectado” — slow, inaccurate and disconnected. It also suggested that his lack of regular minutes at club level was becoming apparent in his performance.
It looks like Alvarez may have caused himself a bit of a problem by burning his bridges at Madrid, he’s lost his rhythm and his form, and that is seemingly affecting his confidence and ability to perform at the top level.
If Alvarez doesn’t buck up his ideas soon, his chances of getting a move to a club like Barcelona or Arsenal may take a hit.
