Mikel Arteta could change 'magic' Arsenal player's position this season because of Andrea Berta's mistake

Mikel Arteta could change 'magic' Arsenal player's position this season because of Andrea Berta's mistake

Arsenal haven’t had the summer transfer window they would’ve wanted.

The Gunners would’ve hoped to dominate the window after winning the Premier League title last season, and they have done some good work.

Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa are excellent signings, while Christos Tzolis looks like an incredible bargain on the left wing.

However, Arsenal need more in attack, especially on the left flank, but they aren’t close to signing anyone in that position.

That could lead to a position change.

Mikel Arteta could change Noni Madueke’s position this season

Arsenal not signing a new left winger is a massive mistake by Andrea Berta.

Leandro Trossard has left for Besiktas, and Gabriel Martinelli is on his way to Al-Hilal. Having just Tzolis replace both of them leaves the Gunners really short.

There are still three days left in the summer window, so there is still time to sign someone. But the fact that all the focus is on Julian Alvarez makes a new left-winger extremely unlikely.

Tzolis will start most games, but as an alternative option, we have a feeling that Arteta will turn to Noni Madueke in some games.

The Englishman has played in that position before, is rapid, can get past people, and as a left-footer on the left, he will have the ability to get crosses into the box consistently.

Arteta has hailed Madueke as a player capable of producing ‘magic’ moments, and even though we aren’t big fans of him on the left, he can come up with a few game-changing scenarios.

Furthermore, Arsenal will not lose a lot on the right without Madueke, because Bukayo Saka will start most games there, while Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri can both play in that position too.

That is perhaps why the Gunners are not going too hard on a new left winger. That would still be a mistake, in our opinion, but Madueke gives them an option for the foreseeable future.
