Arsenal get fresh Julian Alvarez update as Newcastle major sale sets up blockbuster transfer

Arsenal could get a boost to their hopes of signing Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez, thanks to Newcastle United star Nick Woltemade. The Gunners have been heavily linked with signing Alvarez this summer as they look to strengthen their forward options.
With Leandro Trossard already having left the club, news has also emerged that Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are expected to head for the exit door before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
Martinelli is closing in on a move to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League for more than £55.7million, while Jesus is expected to join Barcelona for £8.57million, plus add-ons.
As a result, Alvarez has been mentioned as a target for Arsenal this summer, particularly after interest in Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. led to the Brazilian putting pen to paper on a contract extension.
Amid the uncertainty, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Juventus have made a move to try and sign Woltemade on loan from Newcastle this summer, which could impact Alvarez’s future.
Woltemade has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Jonathan David at Juventus, with the Canada international being linked with a move to Atletico before Tuesday’s deadline.
It has been suggested that David is viewed as a possible replacement for Alvarez, should the Argentina international be granted an exit from the La Liga outfit.
The report also claims that Woltemade is joined by Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee as being identified as a striker option for Juventus. Zirkzee is also said to be a potential target for Atletico in the event that Alvarez leaves the club this summer.

Alvarez has been heavily linked with a move away from Atletico this summer, with Arsenal and Barcelona mentioned as potential destinations.
However, Atletico have made it clear that they do not want to sell the 26-year-old to Barcelona, which has given Arsenal hope that a deal could be done.
However, Alvarez’s preferred destination has been widely reported to be Barcelona, with the forward recently returning to training after missing three sessions.
Alvarez has been considering his future in recent weeks and was not part of the Atletico squad that claimed a 3-1 victory over Sevilla in La Liga over the weekend.
