This is a monster game for Arsenal, we hate playing Unai Emery, it doesn’t tend to matter how bad things are for him… the ex-Arsenal man will always find a way to ruin our day with a scuzzy win or stolen point.
Emery teams play hard, they run you ragged, and they have just enough chaos in them to do very special things.
What don’t they have? No Watkins, Martínez, Konsa, Tielemans, Digne or Morgan Rogers.
Read that back? How crazy is that sort of a summer. It is diabolical that Unai got Villa into the Champions League and that’s how hard they have to savage the squad to stay afloat.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t some worries for Arsenal. Garnacho has had good games against us, Nico Jackson is no slouch, that Brian Madjo kid looks insanely Unai-coded.
But really, a team as well-structured as Arsenal should be ripping into a team so messy, Unai doesn’t comb his hair at the moment.
Arsenal have some injury concerns, quite amusing that Arteta can take a 9-day break and come out with problems nearly every time. It’s a cost of business, just wish there was a stronger view on this type of thing being unacceptable. But here we are.
Still, we have a monster squad at the moment, so coverage for this evening shouldn’t be a problem, one would imagine Konsa might be making his debut at his old home.
