After Andrea Berta became a hero of the transfer window for Arsenal in 2025, the Italian has not exited this year’s market with anywhere close to the sterling reputation he gained 12 months prior. The club’s failure to sign an elite forward stands out considerably with the Gunners’ now short two attackers having allowed three senior players to leave, plus Ethan Nwaneri on loan, and bringing in just one.

The club have been aligned on the decisions made, but despite that there is a sense that more could have been achieved. It leaves work left unfinished going into the January transfer window and the subsequent summer window.

However, there was record-breaking business done in terms of player sales, which was an area of the squad under scrutiny having spent several years waiting for a nine-year record of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35m move to Liverpool to be broken. There is still windows open in some nations while the club’s keenness to complete the signing of Andria Bartishvili remains ongoing – the Georgian would arrive with Victor Ozhianvuna in January of next year.

Plus, there was also successes at youth level for the new Academy Director, Pascal de Maesschalck, who appointed his new under-21s head coach David Horseman and secured some top young talent. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the ins and outs at the Emirates Stadium this summer:
