Gabriel Jesus makes his feelings about Bukayo Saka clear after saying Arsenal may have a new 'starboy'

When you hear the word ‘Starboy’, you immediately think of Bukayo Saka.
The England international came through the ranks at Arsenal’s academy, broke into the first team, and has since played a massive part in carrying the Gunners to where they are today.
Saka is a leader now, but for years, he was popularly referred to as ‘Starboy’ by his teammates and fans.
There are new players who have taken over that nickname now, but for Gabriel Jesus, it will always be Saka.
Gabriel Jesus acknowledges Max Dowman but says Bukayo Saka is still his ‘Starboy’
Max Dowman is a superstar in the making.
The 16-year-old is one of the most exciting young players in the Premier League, and he has already produced a few magic moments for the Arsenal first team.
Dowman’s age and ability have given rise to the nickname ‘Starboy’. Kai Havertz used that very word, along with ‘young’ and ‘lefty’, to describe the youngster in one of the club’s videos recently.
When Jesus was given the same description and asked to guess, his first answer was Bukayo Saka.
The Brazilian was told he was incorrect, and he acknowledged that Dowman is probably the new Starboy. However, Jesus claimed that for him personally, it will always be Saka.
He said in a video on Arsenal’s social channels: “I used to call B (Saka) the ‘Starboy’. Probably the new ‘Starboy’ is Max now, but for me, B is still the ‘Starboy’.”
That just shows how highly Jesus rates Saka, having watched him grow as a player over the years.

Bukayo Saka has a completely different role at Arsenal now
Jesus is not wrong. My mind goes straight to Saka too when I hear the word ‘Starboy’.
However, the Arsenal number seven’s role is very different now.
Saka is no longer a young player coming through the ranks at the club. He is the face of Arsenal and one of the biggest players in the world.
The Englishman is also the vice-captain, which is more proof that Mikel Arteta has given him far more responsibilities than he would give a youngster.
Saka has come a long way since he was first called the ‘Starboy’ at Arsenal, but as Jesus said, he will always be associated with that word for us fans.
