Arsenal make £5m loan offer for right-back who Tottenham have tracked for years

Arsenal’s quest to find a new right-back is continuing on and they’ve now turned their attentions to the Turkish league.

The Gunners are desperate to bring in a new defender, with someone who plays right-back of particular interest to Mikel Arteta.

A host of names have been linked already. English duo Jarell Quansah and Ezri Konsa are both admired, while Jacobo Ramon of FC Como is also a player of interest.

Now, another name has been added to the list.

Arsenal make loan-to-buy approach for Wilfried Singo

Andrea Berta is clearly spinning a lot of plates right now when it comes to landing a new defender.

Clearly, Mikel Arteta is determined to improve his squad in this area.

Now, reports are claiming the Gunners have made a move to try and bring in Ivorian defender, Wilfried Singo.

It’s reported that Arsenal have made a move on loan for Singo, with the idea of a £5m payment being made for the short-term deal and a further £35m being paid down the line.

However, this bid is thought to have been rebuffed by Galatasaray. The Turkish club are instead seeking around £40m in permanent money.

Singo has long been on the radar of English clubs, most notably Tottenham. Indeed, it was only a few seasons back that Spurs made a serious play for Singo while at Torino.

The approach to Galatasaray is an interesting one, with Arsenal already in communication with them regarding Gabriel Martinelli. Martinelli does not want to go, but with Singo on the Gunners’ radar, Andrea Berta may try and push things.

Singo would come in as a more natural right-back than the other potential signings.
