‘I know this’: Ian Wright drops shocking Gabriel Martinelli news live on air after Arsenal v Coventry

Gabriel Martinelli might well be on his way out of Arsenal and Ian Wright is not happy with how the Brazilian is being treated.

Martinelli was left out completely again and it looks very much like the club are trying to force his hand and ensure he leaves.

A number of clubs abroad are keen but as of yet, nothing has materialised.

Nevertheless, while Martinelli might well go, Gunners legend Ian Wright has revealed some uncomfortable news from inside the Arsenal camp.

Ian Wright claims Arsenal are not even speaking to Gabriel Martinelli

Ian Wright is never one to hold back on an opinion when it comes to Arsenal.

Speaking after the game tonight, he launched a big defence of Martinelli and revealed that he has inside knowledge that suggests the forward is being treated poorly.

“The way Gabriel Martinelli is being treated is making me feel uncomfortable. He always gives 100 percent. We’re not saying he’s the greatest, he’s scored some important goals. The way he’s being treated at the end there and I know they might want him out but there’s ways of doing that and it should suit him as well,” Wright said.

“He’s not being spoken to, he doesn’t know what’s going on – I know this. I know this is going on. Not being involved tonight or last week. Look, if you bring in Vini then Martinelli might say ‘Well I might be third here’ but looking at Madueke on the other side he might be feeling I can be there.

“I just feel like he’s done enough in this squad with this team to be treated with a little bit more respect than he’s been treated with at the moment.”

Arsenal need to get on top of Martinelli issue

If this is the case with Martinelli, then Wright is obviously right to be annoyed.

This is not what Arsenal have been about under Mikel Arteta, especially with players who have given so much for the club.

The club will not be happy with Wright revealing such information but as mentioned, he wears his heart on his sleeve and is never going to sit quietly if he feels something is wrong.

There are ways to go about sorting out players being moved on. Simply ignoring Martinelli then leaving him out completely is not the right way.
