Arsenal could get an unexpected transfer deadline day boost from Folarin Balogun
Folarin Balogun seems to be heading to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to sign for Everton on transfer deadline day, and as part of the deal, Arsenal could land a handy £6.7m boost from the sell-on clause they included in his sale.
Arsenal sold Balogun to Monaco in 2023, after an incredibly successful loan in France the season prior. When they sold him, Arsenal included a 17.5% sell-on clause, ensuring they would receive a further windfall in case of any future sale.
As everybody expected, Balogun has only gotten better since he left Arsenal, and after a strong World Cup showing for the USMNT, he's finally getting his move back to the best league in the world.
Arsenal have a 17.5% sell-on clause for Balogun, so will be due around £6.7m if this goes through at the expected £38.5m figure.

As far as Arsenal are concerned, they have been vindicated for a smart piece of business they pulled off back then. They are not known to be a strong selling club, but they deserve credit where credit is due; the sale of Balogun has paid off for all involved parties.
It didn't work out for Balogun at Arsenal because he came through the ranks at the wrong time. He was competing for a spot with the early-days Gabriel Jesus, which was always going to be a losing battle.
When he was tearing it up on loan in France, there was a conversation to be had about whether he could provide backup to Gabriel Jesus. However, it meant that either he or Eddie Nketiah would need to miss out. Ultimately, Arsenal chose to stick with Nketiah, a decision that didn't really pay off.
Nevertheless, there is no bad blood between Arsenal fans and Balogun. It was always a shame to see him vilified for having his red card overturned at the World Cup; yes, it was an awful decision and one that removed any dignity this sport still had, but it was never Balogun's fault. He didn't choose for it to happen.
Arsenal next face Everton towards the end of October, so there's every chance they'll face Balogun then. He is an exceptional striker, and he deserves to get another shot in the Premier League.
It seems like he is replacing Beto, who is headed in the other direction out of Everton. This means he will compete for a spot in the Toffees' starting eleven with Thierno Barry.
On his day, there is no reason why Flo can't be a double-figure goal scorer in the Premier League.
