Mikel Arteta reveals Bruno Guimaraes' primary objective at Arsenal

Bruno Guimaraes wants to help start a dynasty at Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta revealed in a recent interview.

Guimaraes was Arsenal’s marquee signing this transfer window – or at least, he has been so far – and fans are incredibly excited to see him play for Arsenal week in, week out.

Guimaraes will certainly help Arsenal reach a higher level when it comes to the midfield battles and tactical flexibility that he will enable Arteta to use, from a double pivot to give Martin Odegaard more of a license to go forward, to being the sole six so that Declan Rice can contribute more efficiently in the advanced areas of the pitch. 

Arteta was recently asked about the player in a recent interview, and what his aspirations are, to which he said one simple thing: “He wants to make a dynasty here at the club and try to win everything.”

That is exactly what Arsenal need at the moment. Guimaraes did not win a lot apart from the Carabao Cup with Newcastle United – understandably so, it is not a team that consistently wins everything – but he did have a big role to play in trying to change the standards and league positions of the club.

Before the entire project started, Newcastle were not necessarily a team that challenged for European spots. However, Guimaraes was able to use his footballing talent as well as his mentality to spearhead the change, which brought a title and some brilliant European experience to St James’ Park.

Now, at Arsenal, he will have a bigger chance of winning more titles. He has shown that he has the hunger and mentality to challenge for the big trophies, and that is exactly what Arteta claims Guimaraes wants to do.

It is not just his mentality, either: his physical profile is something that Arsenal have missed for the longest time, especially with how Martin Zubimendi sometimes struggled to keep the ball without getting physically dominated by other players.

With Guimaraes, all of that changes, and their midfield automatically becomes the best in the entire league. The chemistry side of things will take some getting used to, but it seems like everything should work out pretty well for both Arsenal and Guimaraes.

It will be really interesting to see how it all unfolds for the Brazil international in the city of London, and the player, from what it seems with regards to his interviews, seems pretty hell-bent to bring a lot of silverware to the red side of North London once again.
