Sandro Tonali is already flopping at Tottenham, surely he’s regretting not signing for Arsenal

Arsenal spent much of this summer track midfield players with Tottenham’s Sandro Tonali one of the key men who was on their radar.
Tonali was being tracked by every top team in England and Arsenal were reportedly close to agreeing a deal before Tottenham eventually swooped and spent north of £90m on him.
In the end, Arsenal simply walked away and made their move for Tonali’s now former teammate Bruno Guimaraes.
And on the basis of Tonali’s latest showing for Tottenham today, it looks like Arsenal have played the situation brilliantly.
Arsenal have got away with one by not signing Sandro Tonali
It might seem harsh to pinpoint Tonali but after chasing him all summer, there has to be an element of smugness about the Gunners right now.
For whatever reason, Tonali opted to go with Spurs and right now, it looks like a poor decision.
In fairness to the Italian, he was probably one of the better players as Spurs lost to Newcastle this evening but also, that is not saying a lot.
While Tonali struggles at Tottenham, Arsenal fans are looking forward to getting their first Premier League glimpse of Bruno Guimaraes this weekend.

We’ve already seen how good Guimaraes can be in helping Arsenal to win the Community Shield. And at a cheaper price than Tonali, Arsenal have won this war so far.
Much like we’ve seen with many players over the years, Tonali might well be falling victim to the situation in general at Spurs.
However, that doesn’t mean he won’t already be looking back and wondering what might have been had he joined Arsenal.
Instead, the Gunners have moved on and signed Guimaraes and right now, it looks like they got the better deal.
