Official – Gabriel Jesus completes move to Barcelona

Gabriel Jesus has completed his move from Arsenal to Barcelona as the Gunners offload another player from their books.

The Brazilian had been made surplus to requirements this season and has missed out on their matchday squad as the Gunners continue to win. He played a role in their success last term, but with Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres ahead of him in the pecking order at the Emirates, it was only a matter of time before he left.

While there had been plenty of discussion about Gabriel Martinelli and his proposed move to Al Hilal, there was almost no news about Barcelona showing interest in signing Jesus. Reports about their interest only emerged after the clubs had reached an agreement for the sale of the former Manchester City man.

Barcelona have now announced his arrival in Catalunya on their website, confirming that the transfer has been completed. The move brings an end to Jesus’ time at Arsenal after several memorable moments with the Gunners.

Jesus completes Barcelona move

Jesus helped Arsenal win their first Premier League title in over 20 years, and there were several significant highlights during his career with the Gunners.

His contribution to the team last season was important, but his position in the squad changed this campaign. With Havertz and Gyokeres ahead of him, regular opportunities became increasingly difficult to find, departing the logical outcome for both the player and the club.

Barcelona had initially missed out on signing Julian Alvarez and have now turned to Jesus as they look to strengthen their attack. The Brazilian brings experience from his time in the Premier League and his previous spell at Manchester City.

Arsenal look for replacement

For Arsenal, the transfer represents another step in their efforts to reshape the squad. Jesus is the latest player to leave the club, and the Gunners will now need to consider whether they should bring in a replacement before the transfer window closes.

There are only a few hours remaining before the deadline, leaving Arsenal with limited time to complete another deal. The club have already made several changes to their attacking options, and the departure of Jesus creates another vacancy.

It will be interesting to see whether the Gunners can agree a deal for a replacement before the window closes. With little time remaining, Arsenal will have to move quickly if they want to add another attacker to their squad.
