Aston Villa vs Arsenal LIVE: Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa calls made in strong line-up

Arsenal take on Aston Villa in their second Premier League match of the season, hoping to make it six points from six. Unai Emery endured the opposite in his side’s start to the season, after shipping four goals at Brighton, as he has seen his side lose many of their major stars.

Ezri Konsa is one of those players who could make his Arsenal debut against Villa as he joins up with Mikel Arteta’s squad for the first time. Bruno Guimaraes is pushing to make his return to the fold, too, and has been training this week.

Nicolas Jackson’s arrival at Villa will come as a boost and the player was registered before Friday’s deadline and is eligible to play. Meanwhile Arsenal have not added any other new players so far and Mikel Arteta will be facing questions before and after the game for the final time before the transfer window slams shut.

Arsenal get the three points after a battling win over Aston Villa.

Bukayo Saka is the hero, grabbing a second-half winner to ensure the north Londonders maintain their perfect start to the new season.

It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win.

But his effort is saved by the Villa keeper. Needed to be 2-0 there. Although it looks like he may have been offside anyway.

It's been a slow game for Arsenal so far but Saka finally gets the Gunners up and running tonight.

Calafiori gets down the left flank and sends in a low ball that Saka bundles home.

The initial challenge was indeed outside the box and it's been given as a free-kick.

Saka goes down under a challenge from Maatsen and a penalty has been awarded.

But it's going to VAR and on a second look, it looks to be outside the box...

The Gunners are still struggling to get a hold of this game.

They're well organised and disciplined, but Villa look comfortable too.

Close again from Villa. Jackson, the former Chelsea striker, gets hold of the ball down the right side and has space to run into.

He keeps going and sends in a teasing cross but his Villa team-mates can't get on the end of it.

Tzolis caught McGinn as Villa launched a counter-attack, and the winger is perhaps lucky to escape without a second booking there.

Saka switches flanks, moves down the left side and gets hold of the ball before delivering a tasty cross into the box.

The Arsenal star, however, is ruled offside. Arsenal's attackers are trying to get hold of the ball more.

The Arsenal winger goes into the referee's book for a challenge on Matty Cash. The Villa defender seemed to enjoy the decision and celebrated...

Another good move by Arsenal with Rice and Havertz combining for Saka but the cross is blocked.

Lewis-Skelly does really well defensively to shield a pass into Raya. Then the long ball nearly finds Havertz high up the field. But Suzuki collects and tries to start a counter...

Calafiori down. High foot from McGinn into the face of the Italian.

The home side get the ball up the other end and find a cross which Lewis-Skelly is forced to boot clear but only for a Villa corner.

Tzolis is played in by Calafiori. He tries to fire the ball across but it is blocked out for a corner.

A well-worked move puts Havertz into a close position but he strays slightly offside. The shot is wide anyway but that's a couple good moves from The Gunners.

Bukayo Saka then up the other end has a shot which curls over the left corner of the goal.

Villa go close, with Buendia smashing a speculative long-range effort that hits Raya's crossbar.

Close for the hosts. Warning for the visitors...

The Gunners knocking on the door now, with Villa's new keeper Suzuki almost having a moment to forget.

Arteta's side moving through the gears now, with Lewis-Skelly looking to get hold of the ball as often as possible.

Villa, despite their disappointing start to the season, have started strongly.

Arsenal taking their time to get into this game - but, then again, we're only five minutes in.

Here we go! The Gunners take on a Villa side who beat them here in the same fixture last season looking for some revenge.

Not long left now as the Gunners prepare to take on their former head coach Unai Emery. An unchanged team but crucially some new faces on the bench in the form of Ezri Konsa and Bruno Guimaraes.

Arsenal have a big job here to claim all three points but they are the favourites to do so.
