Arsenal actually announced a truly incredible deal on transfer deadline day but nobody's talking about it

Arsenal’s summer transfer window did not go as planned.

The Gunners signed a few great players like Ezri Konsa and Bruno Guimaraes, who will both improve them. But their priority at the start was a superstar attacker, and they failed to get one in.

Morgan Rogers, Vinicius Jr and Julian Alvarez were all key targets, but none of them arrived, and Arsenal fans are really upset as a result.

Amid the disappointment, the Premier League winners announced a deal that should excite everyone. But not many have reacted that way.

Arsenal sending Ethan Nwaneri on loan to Borussia Dortmund could be a masterstroke

Ethan Nwaneri has had a difficult year.

The teenager barely played for Arsenal in the first half of last season, so he was sent out on loan to Marseille in Ligue 1 in January.

Nwaneri struggled for minutes in France as well, and despite having a great pre-season, there is no place for him in Mikel Arteta’s side right now.

So, Arsenal agreed to send the 19-year-old on loan to Borussia Dortmund, and that deal was officially announced on transfer deadline day.

Yes, Gooners are happy to see him go to a big club, but amid the disappointment of not signing a superstar attacker, most fans do not seem to have the same excitement as us.

We urged Arsenal to send Nwaneri on loan to Dortmund in November last year, long before Marseille’s interest emerged.

The Bundesliga giants have proved to be one of the best clubs in the world for young players to develop, and there have been several examples.

Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham all became superstars at the Westfalenstadion, and that fills us with a lot of confidence.

We’re sure Arsenal had plenty of clubs knocking on their door to sign Nwaneri on loan, but there is no better place for the youngster to develop than Dortmund.

If this move goes to plan, we won’t be surprised at all if Nwaneri makes his mark like Bellingham did when he was in Germany.

Arsenal deserve a lot of praise for this move, and we can’t wait to see the youngster in action in yellow.
