Arsenal could now offer £64m star to Barcelona to unlock Julian Alvarez deal

An interesting opportunity has opened up for Arsenal that could enable them to sign Julian Alvarez.
It has been well reported that Alvarez has his heart on a move to Barcelona. However, Atletico Madrid don’t want to sell, especially not to a domestic rival.
Mikel Arteta would love to sign the Argentine, and if a move to Camp Nou is truly blocked, Alvarez may be open to a switch to North London.

Barcelona are actively looking at possible alternatives to Alvarez.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that one option the Catalan club are considering is Sporting CP striker Luis Suarez.
Well, if that is the case, Arsenal have got to be viewing this as a huge opportunity.
Arsenal should offer Viktor Gyokeres to Barcelona
If Barcelona rate Suarez, then surely they would absolutely take Viktor Gyokeres.
Sporting CP replaced Gyokeres with Suarez last summer, and the Colombian scored an impressive 38 goals in his debut season.
However, the Arsenal striker scored an even better rate of 97 goals in 102 appearances for the Portuguese outfit.
Plus, Gyokeres has already proven he can do it at the highest level, having been the top scorer for the Premier League champions at the first time of asking.
Both players are the same age, 28, so there’s no advantage either side there. And Sporting surely aren’t going to allow their talisman to leave cheaply.

If Arsenal can offload Gyokeres to Barcelona, it would give them a free run at Alvarez, a player who comfortably upgrades the attack.
Everyone’s a winner really: Barcelona get a good striker, Gyokeres gets an incredible move, Atletico avoid selling to their rivals, and Arsenal get the world-class attacker they need.
Even if Alvarez is still unattainable, moving Gyokeres on opens up a potential move for Victor Osimhen, whose name has also been mooted.
Either way — Alvarez or Osimhen — Arsenal would be substantially improving their frontline.
