Thierry Henry shares instant reaction to Arsenal's 1-0 win against Napoli

Thierry Henry is a happy man after Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Napoli.

The Champions League finalists from last season were made to work hard by Massimiliano Allegri’s side, but they were by far the better side.

Arsenal had 26 shots at goal, created plenty of chances, and should’ve scored four or five goals. However, what matters is the win, and the Gunners have got that.

The Frenchman was heartbroken like the rest of us when the Gunners failed to win the Champions League last season, and he is desperate for the club to get over the line.

What’s great about Henry is also the fact that he doesn’t forget when people mock Arsenal for no reason. He always makes sure to give it back.

After watching his beloved Gunners make it five wins in five to start the season, the pundit pulled up an interesting stat.

Arsenal, who were ridiculed as Set-piece FC, haven’t scored a single goal that way this season. Every single one of their strikes has come from open play.

That has made Henry happy, and he is now wondering if this is a sign that Arteta’s style of play from the 2022/23 season will return.

He said right after Arsenal’s win over Napoli on CBS Sports: “It could’ve been more, but one thing is interesting this year: All the 10 goals of Arsenal this season have come from open play!

“Are we going back to the Arsenal from two years ago (2022/23 season)? What a coincidence, Odegaard is on four goals from five games. I’m happy about it.

“It’s nice to say, because when we were only scoring from set-pieces, people were saying it. Now, I’m saying the 10 goals we’ve scored have come from open play. It could’ve been more.

“Are we going to the old school – that generation two-and-a-half years ago when Odegaard was dominant, and we were opening up teams at will?

“Let’s see if it’s going to last!”
