Midfielder Charlie Purdy makes an impact for Arsenal U18s

Arsenal U18s registered their first victory of the season on Saturday as they overcame Southampton, with midfielder Charlie Purdy making a significant contribution.
In the build up to the only goal of the game, which was scored by Maalik Hashi in the 16th minute, Purdy showed good awareness to win the ball before finding his team-mate, who finished well.
There is a lot of competition for places in the starting lineup for Arsenal U18s this season but Purdy will be hopeful that his blend of creative and defensive qualities should see him get plenty of opportunities.
The 16-year-old was making his first appearance for the U18s this campaign following an injury-disrupted pre-season.
However, he already possesses some experience at this level having made six appearances in the second half of last season, which included a start against Aston Villa.
Purdy certainly seems like a player to keep an eye on this season and he will be aiming for further minutes when the U18s host Crystal Palace next weekend.
