Report: James Scanlon and Evan Mooney score as Arsenal U21s draw with Brighton

New signing James Scanlon scored on his debut as Arsenal U21s drew 2-2 away to Brighton today.

Scanlon started the game along with Habeeb Ogunneye, who also joined the club from Manchester United recently.

Evan Mooney scored a late equaliser after coming on as a substitute as Arsenal drew again.

Andre Harriman-Annous started up front after impressing at times in that position during games recently, while Khari Ranson returned to the starting lineup in goal.

Theo Julienne moved into midfield, while Marli Salmon captained the team again.

Jaden Dixon was named on the bench following his return from injury.

Arsenal were without Max Dowman, who was the extra man for the first-team against Aston Villa.

Arsenal took the lead in the 25th minute as Ife Ibrahim found Scanlon, who finished well.

Brighton pulled themselves level just after the break when Younes Ibrahim found the net.

The hosts then took the lead with substitute Bailey Palmer scoring.

Arsenal made numerous changes, the first of which saw Dixon and Zecevic John come on.

Demiane Agustien, Brayden Clarke and Mooney later entered the fray.

Mooney made a decisive intervention as with just two minutes remaining he scored having been set up by Zecevic John.

Arsenal now have two points from their first two games and will be targeting their first victory of the season when they face Chelsea on September 12th.
