Napoli's biggest Champions League concern isn't Arsenal

Arsenal have had a great start to the Premier League season so far, winning all games and sitting at the summit of the table after four rounds.

They look like the team to beat, and it does not make sense to even bring anyone else into the discussion because no one has looked as good from a general sense as the Gunners this season.

There is a lot of time for that to be fixed, but Arsenal look much closer to the hunted than the hunters this year, and it will be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta and his men handle that.

They are starting their fight to bring the Men’s Champions League to the Emirates Stadium for the first time in their history, and their first match is against Napoli, a team that won the Serie A two seasons ago, and has plenty of options that can potentially hurt Arsenal.

However, Arsenal would likely come out of the match as winners. Facing Arsenal won’t be the only thing that will bring Napoli danger – it can likely be Napoli themselves.

They have not looked convincing enough this season, and despite the talent that they have on the roster, they look beatable.

That is not to say that the game itself will be an easy run-in for the Premier League champions, but it does not bode well for Napoli that they are fresh off of a 3-2 loss against Serie A winners Inter. They gave away a two-goal lead almost effortlessly in that game, and that was after the loss to Como just one week before – that too at home.

Napoli will obviously struggle against Arsenal, who have proven to be one of the best teams in the world in the last four years, but that will not be the only thing they should be worried about. Even if, for some reason, the players on the team sheet do not look daunting enough for them, they should look at their own form first and figure out what to do. They already have their plate full before they even start thinking about how to handle a team like Arsenal. 

It will be interesting to see how Massimilano Allegri tackles the situation, but as it stands, it has a win for Arsenal written all over it, and that is not completely because of the talent they boast. 

It does not help Napoli’s case that the game is after two straight losses, and even though it is in Italy, Napoli would need to be at their very best to even have a chance of getting a favourable result.
