Arsenal think they have a player worth £100m but they won't even get £50m if they sell him

Arsenal’s problem with player sales has not gone away.
While other clubs in the Premier League are selling their players for around £100 million, the Gunners’ record sale is still Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at £35 million.
The aim will be to break that record in this window, and Arsenal have a few candidates for a sale.
Gabriel Martinelli is one of them.
Arsenal think Gabriel Martinelli is as effective as an £80-100m player
Martinelli’s future at Arsenal is up in the air.
It is no secret that the Gunners are looking to sign a new left-winger, despite already bringing in Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.
If a new left-winger arrives, Martinelli will be surplus to requirements, more so than he is now following his omission from Arsenal’s Community Shield squad.
Despite that, the Premier League champions rate the Brazilian very highly.

The Independent have revealed that Arsenal’s internal analytics show that Martinelli is just as ‘effective as many of the targets in the £80-100m bracket’.
Bradley Barcola scored just 13 goals last season, while Kenan Yildiz found the net only 11 times.
Martinelli, on the other hand, also netted 11 goals despite starting fewer games (25) than Barcola (35) and Yildiz (42).
Yet, the PSG and Juventus stars are being linked with moves to clubs for over £100 million, which proves that the Gunners’ data is spot on – Martinelli is worth that fee too.
But Arsenal have a problem.
Arsenal are struggling to sell Gabriel Martinelli for even £50m
Even though Arsenal seem to be open to selling Martinelli, there are very few suitors.
In a world where Savinho and Pedro Neto could secure moves for close to £100 million, it is truly baffling that the Gunners are struggling to push their Brazilian winger out for a similar fee.
The only bid that has arrived so far, according to The Athletic, is from Turkish giants Galatasaray, worth just €45 million (£38.4m), which feels awfully low for a player of his quality.
Furthermore, ESPN have claimed that Arsenal are ready to accept just €50 million (£42.8m) for Martinelli, which, again, makes no sense to us.
Arsenal are absolutely right about Martinelli being as good as players worth £80-100 million, but the fact is that they can’t even sell him for £50 million. That is a real shame.
