Italian journalist claims Inter Milan would love to sign £35m Arsenal player before the deadline

Arsenal’s transfer business has once again consisted of some big incomings this summer but there’s also a need to balance it with outgoings.
Christian Norgaard was moved on to Everton, while Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard have also been allowed to leave.
However, it appears Arsenal are not quite done on that front. A number of names – such as Reiss Nelson, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri – have all been touted as potential outgoings.
But according to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, it is the name of Gabriel Martinelli who could now be on his way.
Inter Milan want to sign Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal
The signing of Christos Tzolis has pushed Martinelli down the pecking order a bit and with talk of Arsenal still looking at another left-sided forward, his future is up in the air.
Now, Italian journalist Barzaghi has claimed Martinelli is top of Inter Milan’s shopping list.
“Martinelli is the one they like the most, although there are clubs such as Inzaghi’s Al-Hilal willing to make incredible sacrifices to sign the player. He has one year left on his contract, so he can’t cost more than €40 million,” Barzaghi explained.
“I think we’re probably looking at around €35 million, with a €6 million salary that could be agreed.
And he has an Italian passport, for those who were asking me about that yesterday.”
Arsenal facing key decision on Gabriel Martinelli
Martinelli himself seems to be in no rush to go anywhere. In a way, that is hindering Arsenal but the player is under no obligation to simply move on.
For Arsenal, it feels like a critical time for them with the Brazilian. With no sign of a new deal on the table, it feels like the club need to get whatever money they can for him.

Yes, £35m seems cheap for a Premier League winning forward.
But ultimately, with his deal running down and not much interest barring from Saudi Arabia, Arsenal’s hand might be forced here.
It very much feels like this one might get done and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal do indeed sign someone else as well.
