Ian Wright makes big Premier League prediction for Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made a big prediction for the Gunners’ upcoming Premier League derby against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

The reigning English champions have started the season with back-to-back league wins. They secured a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on the road on Monday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be aiming to continue the momentum against the Blues at the Emirates. Wright believes the Gunners will come on top in the London derby.

Speaking on The Overlap, Wright was confident about Arsenal’s prospects of another win and backed them to secure a 3-1 triumph over the Blues in north London.

He said: “I think we are winning; we are winning this. 3-1 Arsenal.”

Arsenal have a phenomenal record against the Blues heading into Sunday’s encounter. In the past 11 meetings, they have won on eight occasions with three draws.

All of those stalemates have been at Stamford Bridge, and it has been a struggle for the Blues at the Emirates, with five straight defeats across all competitions.

Despite this, Arsenal can’t afford any complacency this weekend. Chelsea have a new manager in Xabi Alonso, who has worked with a 3-4-2-1 system this campaign.

The west London side have become more of a counter-attacking outfit, and they have dazzled in the final third with 3-2 and 4-3 victories to begin the top-flight campaign.

Still, there is a potential weakness in their defence which Arsenal could exploit. The Blues could also be without Moises Caicedo in midfield after a fresh injury.

Chelsea also sold Enzo Fernandez on transfer deadline day without a replacement, and they may not have the ideal midfield partnership for the visit to the Emirates.

Hence, Arsenal should fancy extending their unbeaten run over Chelsea to 12 matches with another win.
