£55m player is 'unhappy' with what Mikel Arteta has done and is now talking to other clubs

Arsenal have one of the most complete squads in Europe right now.

Mikel Arteta has two excellent players in almost every position on the pitch, and that has massively increased the competition within the squad.

Like every team, Arteta has a fixed starting eleven when everyone is fit, and that means some players have to settle for a spot on the bench more often than not, even if they cost a lot of money.

One such player is Viktor Gyokeres, and he is far from pleased with his situation at Arsenal right now.

Arsenal signed Gyokeres for an initial £55 million in the summer of 2025.

The Swede was viewed as the answer to the Gunners’ goalscoring woes up front, and he scored over 20 goals in his debut season, which is a very impressive return.

However, Gyokeres just never felt like the right fit in Arteta’s system, and the Arsenal manager has preferred Kai Havertz ahead of him in every single Premier League game so far this season.

That has limited the former Sporting man to just 12 minutes in the league, and that has not gone down well in his camp.

The Daily Briefing have revealed that Gyokeres is ‘unhappy’ with his situation at Arsenal, and there is a growing feeling that he could be on the move as early as January.

Furthermore, Gyokeres is not short of suitors. The report claims that AC Milan, Juventus, Al-Ahli, and Al-Ittihad are all interested in the striker, with initial discussions with his camp already underway.

It has been reported that the Arsenal number 14 feels ‘undervalued’ at the moment and is unsettled as a result. If things don’t change in the coming months, he could push for a move in the winter window.

Gyokeres doesn’t quite fit into Arteta’s system, but that doesn’t mean he is a bad player. The Sweden international is an elite goalscorer, and in a team that plays in transition, he could become a superstar.

That, combined with the fact that he is in the prime age of 28, gives Arsenal the opportunity to recoup the money they spent on him, especially if one of the two Saudi clubs comes calling.

However, the Gunners cannot sell Gyokeres unless they find a replacement, so it will be interesting to see who Andrea Berta will turn to in January.
