“He’s smart” Sagna explains why Arsenal man will not have injury problems

Bacary Sagna has tipped Christos Tzolis not to suffer frequent injuries because the attacker knows how to avoid getting kicked during matches.

The Greek star has made a brilliant start to life as an Arsenal player and has continued to impress during the first weeks of his time in North London. He joined them from Club Brugge, and most people would feel that the quality in the Belgian league is nowhere near what is obtainable in England, so he would need time to adapt.

Tzolis makes strong Arsenal start

However, that has not been the case, as Tzolis enjoyed a good pre-season and has started the campaign strongly as well, which is good news for Arsenal. He has been a starter for their team since moving to the club, and the winger will maintain that role as long as he continues to perform well.

With Gabriel Martinelli on his way out of the club, Tzolis will get plenty of chances to play, especially if no replacement for the Brazilian is signed by the club. That could increase his risk of injury, but Sagna does not expect that to be the case.

The former Arsenal defender believes Tzolis is intelligent enough to protect himself during matches while continuing to contribute at a high level. His ability to avoid challenges could prove valuable during a long campaign.

Sagna backs Tzolis for full season

As quoted by the Metro, Sagna believes the Arsenal winger can handle the demands of playing regularly throughout the season.

‘I think Tzolis is young enough to be able to play game after game. He’s young. At 24 he will be able to compete all season and he’s smart. He doesn’t always get in between the lines, he doesn’t get kicked a lot. He’s a smart player and I think he’s able to play the whole season the same way Saka did and still deliver.’

Tzolis will now hope to continue building on his strong start and establish himself as a key player for Arsenal. With Martinelli potentially leaving, his importance to the team could increase significantly.

Sagna’s assessment suggests that Tzolis has the physical and tactical qualities needed to cope with a demanding schedule. If he can remain fit and maintain his current level of performance, he could play a major role for Arsenal throughout the campaign.
