Arsenal transfer news: Ezri Konsa hits a wall as Victor Osimhen breaks silence

The Arsenal transfer news mill is still churning, even if fans feel like they are watching paint dry.
Ever since Arsenal announced the signing of Bruno Guimaraes, there hasn't been too much for Arsenal fans to run with. Sure, there's been 'interest,' but there is always interest. It's an empty word that means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Nevertheless, we do have some concrete reports to check-in with.
Victor Osimhen is no stranger to the transfer market. His name seems to pop up every time the transfer window opens, which comes as a surprise to absolutely no one.
The latest club that he is linked to is Arsenal. At this stage, absolutely nothing is advanced. Arsenal are still twiddling their thumbs, as they've done so well in this transfer window, before making any official move.
Alongside Osimhen, Arsenal are also interested in signing Julian Alvarez. However, neither interest is at any advanced stage.
Nevertheless, Osimhen has spoken about his future. He left plenty to be desired, as he said he will let the transfer stuff play out in its own time. For now, he is only focused on his contracted club, Galatasaray.
"There are always rumours in transfer seasons," said Osimhen. "I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job, then we will see and think further.”
Arsenal are still seeking a defensive option before the transfer window comes to a close. Their preferred option is Ezri Konsa, but they have hit yet another wall with Aston Villa.
Aston Villa would like £60m to sell Konsa, and that is a stance they are refusing to budge on. Unai Emery's side have no reason to let him go for any cheaper than that, in fairness. They are a difficult club to bargain with, but they don't have the reputation for being a selling club.
While players have left Aston Villa, the Midlands outfit rarely accept a lower price than they're owed for their players. If they want £60m, then that's simply the price Arsenal will need to pay.
Konsa, on the other hand, is not pushing for a move away from Aston Villa. He missed their recent Super Cup outing against PSG, but he remains focused on the season ahead.
We are past the point of questioning whatever is going on at Chelsea. They live in their own bubble at Stamford Bridge, so using rationale to judge their decision is pointless at this stage.
They've asked for £100m for Pedro Neto, which means Arsenal should draw a hard line in the sand. They are interested in signing him, for some reason, but not even Arsenal can justify spending nine figures on a guy from Chelsea.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are considering a late move for Viktor Gyökeres from Arsenal. While they have been linked to Julian Alvarez, alongside Arsenal, for most of the transfer window, there is an appreciation for Gyökeres.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal would be open to selling Viktor Gyökeres after just one season. A lot will likely depend on their own transfer activity before the deadline.
One thing is for sure, if you were to ask any Arsenal fan to choose between Alvarez or Gyökeres, the results won't be kind to Gyökeres.
