Gary Neville just gave Arsenal's rivals an indirect but uncomfortable warning

Pundit and former Manchester United legend Gary Neville talked about Arsenal's rock solid defense, and why it can lead them to another title victory this season.

Neville was talking about Arsenal's signing of Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, which now makes their defense even better than it was before. Konsa is one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and having him as a back-up to William Saliba would be exceptionally good for the team.

Now, Arsenal have nine good / great players for four defensive positions, and Neville goes on to show how exactly this can get Arsenal to retain their Premier League title.

“It’s almost like they’re doubling down and saying: we’re not going to concede goals, we’re just going to make sure we’re better than everyone else defensively by a million miles – and they are. That will win them a title again.

The best part about this Arsenal side is their rock solid defense. Their midfield is also among the best in the world now, and both of these lines make Arsenal the team they are today. Their attack is sufficient, which makes it easy for them to score goals, but it's their midfield and defense that would win them the title once again.

That, in itself, is a warning for all of Arsenal's rivals. Neville understands how important it is to have a solid defense and midfield, and Arsenal's is more solid than almost everyone else in Europe.

Arsenal make it extremely difficult for all teams to not only score against them, but also actually get the ball from them. Obviously, against bigger teams, they would get opened up more, but generally speaking, to win the league, they need to be strong on a consistent basis, instead of peaking in the big games.

From that logic, Arsenal's defense and midfield is too good to ignore. It will keep the team consistent, hungry and defensively solid, which are the three things you need to win titles.

You could argue some of these teams' attacks are better than Arsenal's, but if you look at the midfield options, the defense, and generally speaking, teams from an overall standpoint, Arsenal are far and away the best in the league, which is exactly why they are the overwhelming favourites to win another Premier League title this season.

Their rivals still have a couple of days to find reinforcements to be able to challenge Arsenal better, but this warning goes beyond just signings; it's the cohesiveness of the team and the depth that Arsenal have that no one else can match with.
