Bournemouth refuses to change their stance on Arsenal target

Alex Scott has been a revelation in the Premier League since last season, when his fine form helped Bournemouth finish inside the European places.

The Cherries were simply too good for their rivals during that campaign and came close to securing a place in the Champions League, with Scott particularly impressive in matches against Arsenal. His performances attracted attention from several clubs, including the Gunners, who have continued to regard him as a potential signing throughout the summer.

Arsenal maintain interest in Scott

Arsenal added Scott to their list of players they wanted to sign and have maintained that stance all summer. However, despite their interest, they have not been able to bring the midfielder to the club.

The reason for that appears to be Bournemouth’s position regarding the player. The Sun reveals that Bournemouth have not put Scott on the market and insist that he is not for sale at the moment, which is one of the main reasons he has not changed clubs.

Scott has also refused to sign a new contract with Bournemouth, a situation that could have encouraged the club to consider selling him during this transfer window. However, their stance has remained firm despite the circumstances.

Chelsea are also interested in a move for the midfielder, meaning Bournemouth could have faced further pressure to allow Scott to leave. Nevertheless, the Cherries have continued to insist that he will not be sold during this window.

Bournemouth refuse to open the door

The report states that Bournemouth have still not opened the door for Scott to leave, despite the interest surrounding him. The club’s position means that Arsenal and Chelsea will have to look elsewhere if they cannot persuade the Cherries to reconsider.

Bournemouth will not consider any late move for Scott, leaving the midfielder set to remain on their books for another campaign. He will therefore continue to be regarded as one of their stars, just as he was last season.

For Arsenal, this means their long-standing interest is unlikely to result in a transfer during the current window. Scott’s continued presence at Bournemouth will also give the club another season with a player who played an important role in their strong campaign last term.
