Arsenal discussing sale of 26yo winger, could receive £3m

Arsenal are discussing the transfer of winger Reiss Nelson to West Ham United this summer, according to BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel.
The Englishman has spent the last two seasons on loan away from the club, and he is widely expected to depart during the transfer window.
West Ham were initially exploring a loan move for the 26-year-old, but talks are now underway over a permanent deal for the Gunners graduate.
If the move materialises, Arsenal stand to receive around £3 million.
Arsenal poised to part ways with Nelson
The 26-year-old is fondly remembered by Arsenal fans for his dramatic last-gasp winner against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium (2022/23).
Nelson went on to sign a long-term contract worth £100,000 per week, which is probably proving a hurdle to finding potential suitors this summer.
On top of this, the attacker could prefer to stay in London next term. He has spent time on loan with Fulham and Brentford in the past two campaigns.
West Ham seem prepared to trust the winger’s ability despite his lack of game time at Brentford. He managed just over 100 minutes in the league last season.
The Hammers have dropped to the Championship, but they currently have seven players in their squad earning £90,000 or more per week. Some will depart.
Hence, they are capable of meeting Nelson’s salary requirements, while the Englishman also gets the opportunity to continue his career in the English capital.
£3m still represents a low transfer fee. Hopefully, Arsenal can negotiate add-ons related to his performances and West Ham’s potential promotion next term.
Nelson could be one of several players exiting Arsenal in the near future. Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Martinelli are also likely to be sold by the Gunners.
