Every piece of business Arsenal need to do in the last week of the transfer window
Arsenal have one week left to complete all of their intended business before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Tuesday 1 September.
The Gunners have had yet another busy summer, signing Piero Hincapié (making his loan permanent), Illan Meslier, Christos Tzolis, Bruno Guimarães and Ezri Konsa, while sanctioning the sales of Karl Hein, Jakub Kiwior, Leandro Trossard and Christian Nørgaard.
While Mikel Arteta's side have managed to complete most of the deals they sought in the market, they still have plenty of transfer business to get done over the next seven days.
On Arsenal's list of positional targets for the summer, just one is missing a checkmark and that comes in the form of another attacking player. Most reports have suggested that will be a left winger, but there are still links with Julián Alvarez too.
With Gabriel Martinelli looking like he's heading to Al Hilal, there is a need for the Gunners to bolster their strength on the left flank. Tzolis has looked very impressive in his first games, but Arteta shouldn't want the Greek to be the only out-and-out option on that side.
Kenan Yıldız is the latest name to be put forward, but it looks like there could be a desire to hold out for Alvarez, who would cost money and isn't exactly set on joining the club. The Argentina international has made it clear he wants to join Barcelona if he is to leave Atlético Madrid, but Arsenal are ready to bid if he opens the door to a move.
Regardless of who the Gunners decide to go for, they have to bring another attacker in before the deadline to avoid leaving themselves with a limited number of options in the frontline until at least January.
Along with Martinelli, there are several players who need to be heading out the exit door in the next week, and Arsenal really need to get these departures sorted before the window closes.
Gabriel Jesus, Reiss Nelson and Fábio Vieira were named as those who need to be moved on this summer, but with one week to go, all three remain at the club with only Nelson close to sealing a move away after a reported agreement was found with West Ham.
Napoli have shown interest in Jesus while Hamburg are continuing their pursuit of Vieira, having had him on loan last season. With all three seeing their contracts expire in a year, it absolutely crucial the Gunners move them on in the next week to avoid losing yet more players on free transfers.
As is the case every summer, Arsenal are not only looking to buy and sell players, but they are also eager to send players out on loan to help aid their development.
Ethan Nwaneri is a prime example and he is expected to leave the club on loan before the window closes. The Gunners are reportedly prioritising a temporary departure over a permanent exit to ensure the Hale End graduate's evolution can continue while playing regular minutes, something that isn't guaranteed for him in North London.
With Illan Meslier joining as the third-choice goalkeeper Tommy Setford is also set for a loan move away from the Emirates. Having made two first team appearances since joining two years ago, the Dutch-born shotstopper would massively benefit from playing regularly.
There is potential for Arteta's side to also look at loaning out members of their academy with Andre Harriman-Annous, Marli Salmon and Jack Porter among those likely looking for consistent game time over the next year.
