How Manchester United feel about signing Myles Lewis-Skelly as Arsenal name their price

Myles Lewis-Skelly might have started the opening two games of the season but he is still very much facing an uncertain future at Arsenal.

Despite playing in midfield for Mikel Arteta in the last two weeks, there has been continued speculation over his future.

In particular, Manchester United are keen on signing the youngster, with Arsenal believed to be considering cashing in so they can use the income as pure profit against financial rules.

Indeed, while Arsenal fans will find it odd that Lewis-Skelly is being considered as a sale, it’s clear that Man United are still knocking for a reason.

Man United feel Arsenal might still sell Myles Lewis-Skelly

Man United are looking for a long-term solution at left-back and while Lewis-Skelly has played in midfield for Arsenal, most of the chat from the United side is about him replacing Luke Shaw.

Indeed, according to The Sun, United very much believe Arsenal might yet sell their star youngster.

United’s belief comes from a feeling that Arsenal need to raise funds to back their own spending, while they also feel that he is playing in midfield because of Mikel Merino’s injury and Martin Zubimendi’s form.

Mikel Arteta has insisted that Lewis-Skelly will be staying put. However, Arsenal have named a price too.

According to the same report, the Gunners could be willing to do business at around the £50m mark.

Should United offer such a figure, then the Arsenal board may well sanction a sale.

With Arsenal once again spending over £100m this summer, the club does need to bring funds in as well to help with future windows.
