Arsenal fans deliver their immediate verdict on Bruno Guimaraes' debut vs Como

Bruno Guimaraes made his debut for Arsenal in their pre-season friendly against Como.

Mikel Arteta and Cesc Fabregas’ sides drew 1-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, but the Gunners emerged victorious in the penalty shootout.

All eyes before the game were on Guimaraes, and the Brazilian came on at half-time and played the entire second half.

It’s safe to say that Arsenal fans liked what they saw.

Bruno Guimaraes only played 45 minutes for Arsenal against Como, but that seems to have been enough for the fans to fall in love with him.

The Brazil international didn’t do anything spectacular, but the way he always looked to progress the ball forward really impressed the supporters.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Bruno G’s first thought is progression. He’ll change our lives.”

Another wrote: “This was exactly the kind of first outing we wanted: purposeful, energetic, technically sharp, and already influencing the game positively. Bruno looked hungry, settled in quickly, and gave a clear glimpse of the control and drive.”

“You can see already how different it is with Bruno G in our midfield. Give me a fit Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard next to him, and we are making IMAX movies this season,” said another.

Another Gooner reacted to his performance by saying: “Bruno G will change our lives.”

“Yeah, Bruno G is taking us to the promised land,” tweeted another.

Bruno Guimaraes is going to make a massive difference for Arsenal

Guimaraes has only had three training sessions at Arsenal, and he already looked at home.

The former Newcastle star always had one thing on his mind when he received possession: to look for a forward pass.

In his 45 minutes against Como, the Brazilian pulled off a few excellent passes, and he also showed the defensive side of his game by winning both tackles he attempted.

Arsenal now have another midfielder capable of doing everything on the pitch, like Rice. In an attacking sense, Guimaraes is even better than the Englishman.

That could make a huge difference for Arsenal in the upcoming campaign.
