Arsenal star breaks 68-year record while beating Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield

Arsenal have lifted the Community Shield after convincingly beating Manchester City 3-0.
The Gunners were comfortably the better side in Cardiff, with goals from Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard sealing an easy victory.
The North Londoners have now won each of their last six Community Shield games, and Mikel Arteta continues his unbeaten run in the competition as a player and manager.
What caught our eye, among other things, was a long-standing record Arsenal broke very early in the game.
Riccardo Calafiori breaks 68-year Community Shield record during Arsenal vs Manchester City
Calafiori was Arsenal’s surprise hero in the very first minute of the game.
The Italy international started at left-back, but he found himself in a very attacking position in the Gunners’ first attack.
After just 24 seconds, Calafiori found the net after a phenomenal through ball from Myles Lewis-Skelly to give Arsenal the lead.
Manchester City were shell-shocked and never really recovered, thus allowing the Gunners to pick up a convincing 3-0 win.

Calafiori, with his goal, now holds a very good record.
The former Bologna man’s goal after 24 seconds is the fastest in the history of the Community Shield.
The previous holder of the record was Bobby Owen, who scored for Manchester City against West Bromwich Albion in 1968 – 68 years ago. (Opta)
We’re sure Calafiori will be proud of that one.
