£80m Arsenal target now wanted by Man City in late transfer twist

Arsenal are exploring the possibility of adding another high-quality left winger before the summer transfer window slams shut.

The Gunners have been linked with Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye, although they are yet to make a concrete move for the Senegal international.

According to journalist Alex Crook, Manchester City are showing interest in Ndiaye after the departures of Savio and Omar Marmoush to Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton have reportedly slapped an £80 million valuation on their prized attacker.

Arsenal must accelerate their chase

Ndiaye has emerged as a highly sought-after attacking talent, with his versatility allowing him to operate on either wing or play just behind the striker.

The Senegalese forward is a thrilling ball carrier who combines explosive acceleration with nimble footwork to leave defenders scrambling.

He enjoyed a productive 2025-26 campaign with the Toffees, registering six goals and three assists in 32 Premier League appearances.

Manchester United also admired Ndiaye, but the Red Devils ultimately opted against making a move following Marcus Rashford’s return.

Considering the high interest in Ndiaye, it seems highly unlikely that Everton will offer a discount to any club.

The Toffees could also be particularly reluctant to sanction his departure with the transfer deadline rapidly approaching.

Manchester City have plenty of financial muscle at their disposal after raising significant funds through several first-team departures this summer.

Arsenal will need to move quickly if they want to beat the competition and complete their left-wing overhaul having already brought in Christos Tzolis.

The Gunners could be waiting for Gabriel Martinelli to officially complete his proposed move to Saudi giants Al-Hilal before launching an approach for Ndiaye.
