Arsenal get fresh Julian Alvarez hope as player goes into hiding, ‘Nobody knows’
Arsenal fans might had all but given up hope of signing Julian Alvarez 24 hours ago but fast forward to the end of the weekend and things might have changed again.
Alvarez is Arsenal’s top target for this window but there had been suggestions he had already told Mikel Arteta he wouldn’t sign.
Indeed, we know that Alvarez had his heart set on Barcelona but with the Spanish side now signing Gabriel Jesus, any hope the Argentinian had of getting that move appear over.
However, when it comes to Arsenal’s hopes of signing Alvarez, things might not be over just yet.
Julian Alvarez goes silent over Arsenal decision
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is thought to be fuming with Alvarez and on the surface, it appears his time at the club is done.
But with Barcelona’s interest drying up and Arsenal seemingly the only team willing to pay, the former Man City man has a big call to make.
Indeed, according to Spanish reporter Ruben Uria, Alvarez is giving nothing away.

Up until now, it appears Alvarez has been feeding the Spanish press enough information to try and put Arsenal off and also tempt Barcelona in.
Now, though, it seems that the forward has realised he has messed up.
Still, this could be good news for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta. With Arsenal looking like Alvarez’s only option, it feels like if ever a deal was going to be struck, it’s going to be now.
With the deadline just days away, it will be all guns blazing for Andrea Berta now and Arteta in terms of convincing Alvarez.
If no deal is done, then he faces quite a bizarre season ahead under Simeone.
