John Terry has made an early prediction for Arsenal vs Chelsea

The Premier League season has not even started yet, but the predictions are already flowing.

Arsenal begin their title-defending season against Frank Lampard’s Coventry City on Friday night at the Emirates.

But Lampard’s former teammate is already looking ahead to the Arsenal vs Chelsea game next month.

John Terry has taken to TikTok to predict Chelsea’s first five games of the new season.

For four of them, he backs Xabi Alonso’s side to win. But for the Arsenal clash on Gameweek 3, Terry predicts a 1-1 draw.

Arsenal host their London rivals on Sunday 6 September, a fixture they haven’t lost at the Emirates since 2021.

Terry is clearly bullish about Chelsea’s chances under Alonso — a long-time friend of Mikel Arteta.

Having said that, he still views Arsenal as the clear favourites for the title, and has been impressed by their summer transfer business.

“I still think Arsenal are the big favourites for the league this year and looking like they’re gonna make some good signings over the summer as well,” Terry said.

Chelsea themselves have strengthened. Alonso’s side have spent over £340million this summer, including the £117million acquisition of Morgan Rogers, a player Arsenal wanted.

Many are backing them to be up there in the Premier League title race this season, helped by the fact that they won’t have European football to juggle this year — we saw how that benefited Manchester United last season.
