Confirmed: Arsenal sign Igor Tyjon following Blackburn departure; given number 64 shirt

Arsenal have completed the signing of young striker Igor Tyjon, the club have confirmed.

Tyjon, who was previously at Blackburn Rovers, has been given the number 64 shirt indicating that he is part of the U21 squad at Arsenal.

The 18-year-old will also hope for some involvement with the first-team and is eligible to play in the UEFA Youth League.

A talented player, Tyjon had been the subject of interest from Arsenal for over a year.

During his time at Blackburn Tyjon made three senior appearances, while he also featured prominently at U21 level.

Mainly a striker, he has also played as an attacking midfielder or winger at times.

Tyjon has represented both England and Poland. Born in Southport, he started his youth career at Rochdale before joining Blackburn.
