15-year-old steals the show as Arsenal hit five past Norwich

Arsenal U18s recorded a 5-1 victory at Norwich City in the U18 Premier League South, extending their winning streak to three matches.

Axel Donczew, who made his debut against Crystal Palace, was handed his first start, while goalkeeper Charlie Phillips made his first appearance at this level.

Jaden Maghoma was the star of the show, with the 15-year-old scoring a brace, taking his goal involvements to four, after registering two assists against Palace.

Donczew opened the scoring inside 15 minutes with a brilliant strike. He picked the ball up on the edge of the box, drove towards goal and picked out the far corner.

Arsenal doubled their advantage after the half-hour mark through Jaden Maghoma, who finished after Emerson Nwaneri’s close control helped him beat the Norwich defenders.

Moments later, Maghoma extended the lead of Darren Fletcher’s side with a simple finish following brilliant individual work from Teshaun Murisa.

Donczew orchestrated the fourth goal, winning the ball before pulling it back for Charlie Purdy to apply the finish.

Norwich pulled one back early in the second after Kahlil Steele intercepted Daniel McCarron’s pass. Steele then picked out Ollie Roberson, whose shot deflected past the Arsenal goalkeeper.

Arsenal completed the scoring in stoppage time following brilliant teamwork. Luis Munoz fed Nwaneri, who beat his marker with a smart footwork before striking the ball into the bottom corner.

Arsenal still trail leaders Tottenham Hotspur by six points despite recording three consecutive victories.

Josh Smith’s side will have the chance to reduce the deficit when they host Tottenham after the international break.
