David Seaman names the team that Arsenal should be worried about

David Seaman has named the team he believes could cause problems for Arsenal this season, with the Gunners appearing to be ahead of most of their Premier League rivals.

This season allows Arsenal to win back-to-back league titles, and the Gunners are keen to make that happen by the end of the campaign. Their strong start has already increased expectations around the team.

After one game of the season, many people believe stopping Arsenal will be difficult, although their only opponents so far have been a newly promoted team. The Gunners have nevertheless looked strong, while several of their main rivals are still adjusting to new managers.

Almost all of Arsenal’s major rivals have appointed new managers who are only beginning to establish themselves. They will need time to build momentum and stability within their squads, giving Mikel Arteta an advantage after being in charge at the Emirates since 2019.

Arsenal Have Stability on Their Side

Arteta’s long tenure has helped Arsenal develop one of the most stable and efficient teams on the continent. The manager has had time to build his squad and establish his methods, while several competing clubs are still finding their feet.

That could allow Arsenal to make the most of the early stages of the campaign. However, the Gunners will still face competition from teams with enough quality to challenge them over the course of the season.

When asked which team could push Arsenal closest, Seaman said via Give Me Sport:

“I did think Man United were going to be a lot better than what I saw today, so that’s been disappointing. The City result against Arsenal in the Community Shield that really disappointed me, so that threw me a little bit.

Seaman Backs Liverpool

“So I’m looking at Liverpool, I still think City will be strong, but I’m going for Liverpool. We’re waiting to see what sort of system he plays. I just think Liverpool have got a bit more quality and quality in depth that will see them, hopefully, get second.”

Seaman therefore believes Liverpool could be Arsenal’s biggest challenger this season, while still acknowledging that Manchester City should remain strong. His comments suggest Arsenal’s stability could give them an advantage, but Liverpool’s quality and squad depth could make them a serious threat.

With the season still in its early stages, Arsenal will have to maintain their level while their rivals adapt to their new managers and systems. The Gunners have made a strong start, but Liverpool could provide their biggest test.
