Liverpool have made contact with the agent of Chelsea winger Pedro Neto as they look to secure a late summer transfer window deal.
The Reds are actively holding discussions with Neto’s representatives, according to a report from Football Transfers, with the move linked directly to Cody Gakpo’s potential departure.
Manchester City are locked in negotiations to sign Gakpo following the departures of Omar Marmoush and Savio to Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool are prepared to sanction Gakpo’s sale before the window closes, but only if they can secure another high-calibre attacker alongside Bradley Barcola.
Pedro Neto has emerged as a top target for Liverpool, with the 26-year-old Portuguese winger understood to be open to leaving Stamford Bridge for the right offer.

His ability to operate on either flank, take on defenders directly and contribute in the final third makes him a profile that Liverpool clearly value highly.
