Arsenal owners send message to fans ahead of Premier League opening game

Stan Kroenke and Josh Kroenke have sent a rallying message to Arsenal supporters ahead of the club’s Premier League opener, urging everyone to build on a historic title-winning campaign.

In a joint programme message before Friday night’s meeting with Coventry City, the Arsenal co-chairs reflected on the club’s achievements before setting their sights firmly on winning more trophies.

They described the 2025/26 campaign as one that “will forever be etched in our hearts”, highlighting the Premier League title triumph and the women’s team’s success on the world stage.

The pair also paid tribute to the scenes that followed Arsenal’s title success, saying the celebrations demonstrated the club’s unique connection with supporters across the world.

“The 2025/26 season will forever be etched in our hearts — a historic campaign that ended a 22-year wait for the Premier League title and saw us become FIFA Women’s World Champions, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

“Holding the trophy at Selhurst Park was a special moment, but what made it magical was sharing that joy with our supporters. From north London to the world, we witnessed celebrations that transcended borders, cultures and generations. People came together to revel in the happiness, reminding us of our unique power to bring pride, inspiration and belonging to the Arsenal family around the world.”

They also reflected on the title parade through north London, describing it as a moment that united the club and its supporters after the disappointment of the Champions League final.

Looking ahead, however, the Kroenkes made clear Arsenal’s ambitions have not diminished.

“While we will cherish the memories of last season, our focus is now on building on our success this season and beyond. Champions don’t stand still, they evolve and keep moving forward,” they continued.

They also pointed to Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi and David Raya helping Spain win the World Cup, before referencing Arsenal’s Community Shield victory over Manchester City as further evidence of the momentum behind the club at the minute.

The message also acknowledged the departures of Leandro Trossard, Christian Norgaard, Jakub Kiwior, Karl Hein, Rosa Kafaji, Jenna Nighswonger and Laila Harbert, while welcoming Pascal De Maesschalck as the club’s new Academy Director and highlighting summer arrivals Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis, Illan Meslier, Piero Hincapie, Georgia Stanway, Ona Batlle, Selina Cerci, Geraldine Reuteler, Lisa Baum, Isabella Damm and Misa Rodriguez.

As Arsenal prepare to begin the defence of their Premier League crown, the club’s owners closed with a message of thanks to supporters and a clear ambition for the campaign ahead.

“We’re excited for everything that lies ahead and we thank you, our Arsenal family – those here tonight and those tuning in around the globe – for your continued loyalty and support. We hope at end of the season we will be celebrating wildly together again and going one (or more) better across our teams.

“Enjoy the game and come on you Gunners!”
