Arsenal sees injured youngster as their long-term number nine

Arsenal have been searching for a lethal striker in recent seasons, and they may have identified a player who could lead their attack in the future.

Since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left Arsenal, the Gunners have not signed a player capable of establishing himself as their main man in attack and competing for the Premier League Golden Boot.

They believed they had solved that problem when they signed Viktor Gyokeres last season, but the Swede has not reached that level and has lost his starting place to Kai Havertz this season. Arsenal could therefore continue looking towards the future for a long-term solution.

The Gunners may now have identified their next attacking target, with a report revealing that Eli Junior Kroupi is being considered as a potential future leader of their attack. His performances before his injury have made him an attractive option for the club.

Kroupi emerges as future target

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal have identified Kroupi as the player they want to lead the line for them in the future and are expected to pursue an interest in him after this summer.

The Frenchman was the highest-scoring teenager in the Premier League last season before suffering an injury that has kept him sidelined until now. His absence has prevented him from building on what had been an impressive campaign.

If Kroupi had not suffered that injury, he may have left Bournemouth during this transfer window. His form had attracted attention, and Arsenal now appear to regard him as an important option for the future.

Arsenal may face competition

If Kroupi returns to action and continues scoring at the rate he managed last season, more clubs could become interested in signing him. Arsenal may therefore need to remain attentive to his situation if they want to secure his services.

The report suggests the Gunners will pursue their interest after this summer, giving Kroupi time to return from his injury and demonstrate that he can reproduce his previous form.

However, if he gets back to playing and continues to score as he did last season, clubs could make an approach for him in January. Arsenal may therefore have to move carefully if they want to make him their long-term solution in attack.
